La Tlapalería presents: Mexibrijes - Mario
As Mexicans, we know about the iconic characters that represents us before the world. Many others, go by unseen, nevertheless, we know they make up a fundamental piece of the identity of Mexico. For 2017’s edition of wanted design Manhattan, the collection mexibrijes, pays tribute to all of these characters through terracotta figurines inspired in alebrijes and the fusion of different characteristics of animals. In particular, Mario makes reference to the mariachi and ranchero musicians.
La Tlapalería is a design collective represented by high performance ITESM students and graduates, that work together with craftsman and advisors close to the industry, to generate an ecosystem for the appraisal of craftsmanship based on creative methodology and the development of new products.
